Summary:

This position plays a critical role in providing quality care to consumers receiving services from Meridian, community partners, as well as Meridian staff. The position will interact with customers through a variety of methods, including but not limited to receiving and answering inbound calls for the purpose of scheduling/rescheduling appointments, routing calls to appropriate staff member, providing basic information about services and programs etc., as well as face to face engagement as customers arrive for appointments. This position is ideally suited for a highly extroverted, enthusiastic, organized, multi-tasking individual, who is comfortable working in fast paced environment with the general public and approaches work with superior levels of commitment, integrity and customer service.


Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • Excellent written communication skills, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong verbal skills

  • Ability to foster customer engagement and relationships

  • Ability to quickly learn Meridian’s programs and services

  • Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, multi-tasking position

  • Advanced computer proficiency

  • Desire and ability to acquire and effectively communicate responses to service recipients’ questions

  • Excellent listening skills and empathy

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and handle challenging interpersonal situations

  • Ability to develop relationships and interact with all customers in a supportive nature

  • Ability to manage multiple phone lines at the same time.

General Responsibilities:

This position will provide both reception and telephonic engagement. The Front Office Engagement Specialist will work within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) The Front Office Engagement Specialist will work with confidential information such as protected client health information and must take precautions to maintain information in a confidential manner as required by state and federal laws.

Required Minimum Training:

High school diploma or GED.
