POSITION SUMMARY:

Blue Acorn iCi’s Digital Solutions team is currently looking to hire an experienced System Support Specialist. The System Support Specialist will provide technical support related to user and infrastructure computer, telephone, and A/V systems. The role also provides support and maintenance of all infrastructure related systems including networking and server equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Respond to queries over the phone, through email or in-person
  • Create and maintain department and company documentation and training materials
  • Creation and maintenance of user accounts and permissions across all systems
  • Aid and train computer users in various internal systems and applications
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems
  • Walk users through problem-solving processes
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems
  • Follow up with users to ensure issue has been resolved
  • Basic system administration including updates and patches to servers and applications with direction from System Administration
  • Regular on-call shifts to assist in after-hours support for internal systems and user assistance
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S./B.A. with experience in a related technical field preferred, not required
  • HS Diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years of experience in the technology field required
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory or equivalent with user and group management a plus
  • The ability to analyze and troubleshoot basic hardware and software problems
  • The ability to document processes and procedures
  • PREFERRED SKILLS & TECHNOLOGIES:

  • Microsoft, Linux, or Hardware certifications a definite plus
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS REQUIREMENTS:

    Common office/desk environment that involves long periods of time at a stationary desk with extensive computer work that requires repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
