EXPERIENCED (Minimum 2 years) Hot Oil Operator needed.
The Hot Oil Operator operates Hot Oil Truck for heating oil or other treatment fluid. Includes jobs such as hot oil tubing, casing and flow lines, vessels and treating oil storage tanks, pressure testing wells and loading tubing to ensure wells are pumping.
Job Duties • Learns to perform assigned jobs and how to maintain daily job tickets. • Communicates with production operations regarding jobs; includes pre-work and post-work discussions to keep production operations up to date on job activity and concerns. • Learns how to heat oil or other treatment fluids and hook up to appropriate valves/fittings. • Trains to use hot oil/fluids to melt paraffin in tubing, casing, flow lines, vessels and storage tanks. • Arranges for preventative and unscheduled maintenance as needed by working with Company mechanic. • Services truck daily; fills truck with fuel and propane before leaving for field; washes and maintains according to Company standards. • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily; maintains vehicle and DOT (Department of Transportation) logs, time sheets, and daily worksheets. • Learns and follows all Blackwater HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) policies at all times. • Knows and uses appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times. • Drives commercial vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrain, including highways, rural roads including paved and gravel surfaces, and off-road situations including two track roads. • Will be utilized in Water Transport if not needed as a Hot Oiler. • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor. • Internal applicants should meet all eligibility requirements per employee handbook
Qualifications • High school education or equivalent preferred. • Minimum Two-Year prior oil and gas experience. • Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) endorsement and clean driving record. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Able to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and a r m s; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • Able to lift and / o r move up to 100 pounds on routine basis. • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. • Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat / cold. • Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE.
