ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Strategic Sourcing Manager role is a leadership role in Blackline's Managed Services Practice offering the opportunity to provide services to one or more of our clients. The role may deliver services from Blackline locations or from our client sites.  Success is measured by a core set of key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure clarity and alignment with regards to outcomes and value delivery.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 

  • Lead cross functional stakeholders through high complexity global Strategic Sourcing initiatives from project initiation through implementation 

  • Contribute to the execution of existing strategic sourcing and category management strategies employing cost-saving, demand management, and other procurement strategies to deliver desired business and Procurement outcomes 

  • Lead multiple simultaneous moderate to high complexity global solicitations including RFI, RFP, RFQ documents to procure indirect products and services in compliance with department procedures and policies balancing priorities and dependencies 

  • Analyze historical spend, business requirements and market data to execute against existing sourcing and negotiation strategies 

  • Lead the development of consensus driven supplier selection recommendations or other Procurement related decisions including presentation to executive leadership 

  • Negotiate commercial terms, conditions and pricing with suppliers in the purchase of goods, materials, and services aligned with global cross functional stakeholder business requirements 

  • Draft and interpret contract terms and conditions to establish favorable purchase agreements including but not limited to moderate to high complexity global Master Services Agreements, Statement of Works, Purchase Agreements and License Agreements 

  • Work with appropriate stakeholders (Legal, Risk, Compliance, Information Security) to ensure contracts incorporate appropriate legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements 

  • Lead initiatives to drive innovation and efficiency across Blackline and customer procurement capabilities 

  • Play key roles in Blackline or customer facing projects or other change management activities  

  • Manage, mentor and support career growth opportunities for Blackline team members 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS 

  • 7 years of relevant procurement experience  

  • 4 p years of relevant Strategic Sourcing across a broad range of Indirect Procurement Categories in complex organizational environments, commercial marketing category experience is a nice-to-have

  • Expert level knowledge of commercial procurement methodologies as demonstrated by prior work experience 

  • Ability to determine, develop and apply negotiation strategies that lead to favorable contract terms and conditions and improved pricing 

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders from operational through executive leadership within Blackline, our customers and their supplier base 

  • 5 years developing and negotiating commercial contracts 

  • Ability to resolve conflict and drive consensus among diverse global stakeholder groups including executive leadership 

  • Ability to analyze issues, execute sound judgment, make and communicate consensus driven decisions 

  • Effectively manage multiple projects/priorities 

  • Excellent and demonstrable verbal and written communication skills including the ability to develop content and present complex topics to executive stakeholders 

  • Intermediate proficiency in project and change management 

  • Experience utilizing leading e-Sourcing, P2P, spend reporting and related solutions 

  • Proficient using MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Advanced presentation skills 

  • Track record of fostering inclusive, collaborative and ethical work environments 

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA or Masters Degree preferred 

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

Work Commitment: Full time, permanent opportunity
