BP Executive Staffing is looking to hire a Director, Payer Marketing for our client at a global biopharmaceutical company located in Bridgewater Township, NJ.

The Director, Payer Marketing is a core member of the launch team of a late-stage asset and will help define, implement and support execution of the value proposition across multiple indications through market access channels. This individual will lead the development of strong value propositions, disease education, and promotional materials to support multiple indications. This position plays a critical role in supporting and influencing internal and external stakeholders, driving customer decisions and enabling long-term patient access through strategic execution.

The position reports to Executive Director, Marketing


Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Work with Market Access team to build effective engagement strategies to inform and educate the market both pre and post launch to ensure brands value proposition is understood and access hurdles will be minimized.
  • Leverage market research & insights to define and communicate strategic imperatives in partnership with cross-functional teams to optimize value across multiple indications.
  • Align market access objectives with finance, brand marketing, HEOR, commercial effectiveness and sales teams.
  • Support the overall go-to-market strategy to align payer, channel, and patient experience.
  • Collaborate across all functions to ensure key partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, customers and vendors.
  • Interface with external organizations to aid in strategy and execution (vendors, payers, specialty pharmacies, PBMs, etc.). Conduct advisory boards and market research as needed.
  • Act as a leader on the U.S. launch team
  • Up to 20% travel


  • Requires a minimum of 6 years pharmaceutical experience in brand management/marketing in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years in payer marketing roles
  • Experience in managing external partners (e.g. consultants, agencies)
  • Experience as a people manager preferred
  • Proven ability to develop exceptional relationships and have an impact on or appropriately influence others
  • Experience working in a start-up and/or mid-cap sized company highly desired.
  • Multi-indication, large brand experience preferred
  • Familiarity/experience with regulatory and pharmaceutical legal promotional review processes
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Biological Science or Pharmacy discipline; MBA preferred.
  • A track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics that have delivered strong commercial results.
  • Successful track record of U.S. product launch experience also preferred
  • Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional, high-performance teams
  • Highly analytical and strategic with demonstration to translate strategies into initiatives
  • Highly developed organizational and prioritization skills and capability
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel 20% required
