The role of Director-National Accounts, Managed Markets-Central is to increase physician and patient access to Biodesix commercial products through deep payer penetration and superior account management. The candidate will work with the Reimbursement team to build market position and strategy by locating, developing, negotiating, and closing coverage policies and contracts with managed care organizations and technology assessments regionally and nationally.

This position can be based anywhere in the U.S. – Central region locations near a major U.S. airport preferred.

- Gain/Update positive Medical coverage policies for Biodesix products
- Establish key relationships with leadership, key decision makers, and other administrators within targeted managed care plans
- Develop and lead compelling payer value proposition that communicates clinical, economic, and value-based attributes of Biodesix commercial products to key payers
- Negotiate and execute contractual agreements with targeted managed care plans/accounts at national/regional/state levels
- Work with field sales, medical affairs, and other internal partners to maximize pull-through opportunities on all MCO agreements
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of payer customers and negotiate value-based propositions with HMO and PPO plans, FFS, Managed Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage plans
- Utilize account planning tools to develop focused account call plans for customer interactions and presentations

- Comprehensive understanding of US healthcare system including providers, payers, technology assessment organizations, and influencers, specifically as it relates to diagnostics
- Must have strong network of contacts within the payer space both Medical and Ancillary
- Strong communication and sales skills (thorough understanding and application of the complex sales model and strategy preferred)
- Strategy and decision analysis skills

- Ability to present thorough clinical data and cost-effectiveness information to key decision makers in a compelling manner
- Ability to work independently and make decisions when needed
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere and communicate issues or successes with superiors
- Ability to travel nationally as needed for client meetings, conferences, and sales meetings as required
- 30-40% Travel Required
- Must be capable of remote management (being managed, and managing)

- 6-10 years previous experience in Managed Care Markets calling on major payers such as BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, United, etc. and Technology Assessments such as Evidence Street, Avalon, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience in clinical laboratory, healthcare services, or biotech industries (experience in Molecular Diagnostics Industry preferred)
- Undergraduate degree required
- M.B.A or other related Master’s degrees preferred
