Job Description

 

Duties will be general maintenance and repairs, changing air filters, keeping A/C drains clean, other miscellaneous A/C maintenance and general handyman work including carpentry, minor plumping and electrical repairs, cleaning hair traps, lawn maintenance, trash, vehicle maintenance and can operate a skid steer. Must have references, background check and drug test is required.

Job description

As a dog lover, we are sure that you're ecstatic to find a job advertisement for a position at the country's largest cage-free no-kill rescue! Imagine the satisfaction that you will receive from working at the Ranch where we rescue homeless dogs and find them furever homes! It is a feeling beyond anything else! We are seeking an energetic and reliable Custodian/Maintenance worker to join our maintenance team.

Overall duties will include removing debris, maintaining common areas, cleaning/restocking bathrooms, delivering supplies to various buildings & cleaning/sanitizing dog kennels. You will inspect various equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance as needed. You will assist the lead maintenance tech with some projects, but should be able to work independently. The Custodian/Maintenance worker will perform a variety of tasks that require little skill and can be learned quickly; other tasks require considerable experience or training. Custodian/Maintenance workers are required to work outside in all kinds of weather or in buildings without heating or air conditioning.

Job brief

The successful candidate will be highly organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously. You will work with management and the Maintenance Supervisor to create an effective cleaning schedule, which will include your day-to-day routines and work timetable.

 

Responsibilities

*Keep Buildings, Grounds, & Front Entry Spotless... free of trash and debris.

*Clean bathrooms, vet clinic, cafeteria, lobby and patio every morning before 10:00 AM

*Remove all trash, replace trash bags, and dispose of any other debris, etc.

*Clean grounds adjacent to the buildings.

*Help Maintenance Supervisor &/or Property Manager maintain inventory & order supplies for facility maintenance.

*Monitor and service bathrooms throughout the day.

*Clean & sanitize dog kennels after transports & as needed

*Monitor the property on a frequent basis and remove litter, debris, and pet droppings from the grounds.

*Scheduled pressure cleaning of porches.

*Complete minor repairs and building improvements.

*Interior and Exterior Painting as needed.

*Knowledge with plumbing preferred

*Experience with carpentry preferred.

*Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions

Requirements

*Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.)

*Frequent handling of various sizes and weights of items.

NOTE: Lifting and carrying of weights exceeding 50 lbs. is often accomplished with assistance from
one or more person. Examples of heaviest items lifted include washer/dryers, refrigerators, A/C units, etc.

*Lifting/carrying (supplies, blower, ladders, dog kennels, power-washers etc.):

*Frequent work outside

*Frequent kneeling and bending legs at the knees to come to rest on one or both knees.

*Ability to use common power and hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, shovels, hand tools, etc.

*Experience performing routine maintenance.

*Strong organizational and follow up skills.

*Eye for detail.

*Professional presentation and attitude.

*Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

*Strong time management skills.

*Must be able to complete daily work assignments in a timely manner.

*Prepared to execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.

*Ability to communicate effectively in the predominant business language, English.

*Needs to be thorough, reliable, responsible, honest, organized, flexible and service-oriented.

*Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.

*Must have valid driver's license.
