About The Role

At Beyond Identity, the Product Design & UX (PDUX) team is a centralized group of designers and researchers who create user-empowering experiences based on data-driven decisions and vetted through a pragmatic design process. As one of the first dedicated user researchers to join the PDUX team, you will help establish and organize the user research function at Beyond Identity. In this startup environment, you will have the opportunity to design and conduct studies ranging from highly exploratory topics to low-level usability reviews. You will study the product space, seek out subject matter experts, and run studies, both qualitative and quantitative in nature.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the head of PDUX to identify potential opportunities and improvements across the product teams of Beyond Identity.
  • Partner with product managers, product designers, and product marketing managers to identify study opportunities for features in the exploratory stages of development.
  • Coordinate and conduct user research studies with end users, buyers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts as necessary.
  • Run multiple studies of varying scopes and/or topics, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data across IAM B2B and consumer spaces.
  • Share findings and insights regularly with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Create user research artifacts to promote user research and shared understanding, from user journeys and lifecycles to persona sets across the B2B and consumer landscapes.
  • Establish and maintain a user research cadence in collecting and analyzing user data and behavior through existing and new feedback channels
  • Covid-19 Note: This role is based in New York, NY where travel & commute are expected to resume when it is determined safe to do so. In the meantime, this role will be remote.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of user research and/or user experience roles using a blend of methods across:
    • User research interviews
    • Contextual inquiry
    • Usability testing
    • Customer satisfaction metrics
    • Surveys
    • User journey mapping
    • User behavior tracking software
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of user research methods and user behavioral trends across one or both of the following areas:
    • B2B Enterprise SaaS software
    • B2C Consumer
  • Proven record of conducting studies that led to new features and enhancements
  • Demonstrated execution of data analysis across qualitative and quantitative data sets
  • Strong collaborator with product design, data science, product marketing, and customer-facing functions such as customer support and sales.
  • Experience working and thriving in a fast-growth startup environment
  • Understand how to leverage experience and intuition while adapting to new situations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting your work to executive, technical, or customer-facing audiences
