As a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant at Zeal Insurance, you will play an important role in our office! You will typically be the first impression our clients have and you will use your skills and personality to help grow our local Allstate agency by supporting our customers and sales staff. You will apply customer service skills to assist our customers with their questions and properly direct their inquiries and calls by providing personalized service with trusted advice. 


What you'll do:


  • Greet clients daily, either in person or via phone, or email.
  • Support sales agents and other staff by taking detailed messages, providing clerical assistance, running agency reports, typing correspondence, and using agency software.
  • Maintain the office systems and functionality by ordering and refilling supplies, stamping mail, organizing common areas, etc. 
  • Adapt to the team needs and assist with other projects as needed 
  • Input current customer information into the database regularly so it is readily available
  • Serve your local community by helping them prepare for life's uncertainties
  • Educate prospective customers on how to protect their families and assets
  • Provide a positive customer experience


What you need to be successful:


  • An ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively
  • You must be a good listener and understand what the client needs in order to direct them properly
  • Coachability and willingness to learn
  • An ability to multitask and properly manage time
  • You will go through an extensive training program to prep you on insurance sales and service, so you need to be willing to absorb this information and put it to use once you're on the phone as well as be open to constructive criticism about how to improve your process
  • Competitive personality and internal motivation 
  • Time efficiency, multi-tasking & technology skills - be efficient with you and your customer's time. Be able to multitask and manipulate multiple screens, including our software system,  while continuing a conversation with the customer 
  • Positive, team-oriented personality


Training, Experience & Necessities:


  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Sales experience preferred but not required
  • Basic computer skills such as word processing and the ability to utilize various databases
  • Proven track record of strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Two years of prior experience in customer service or the insurance industry preferred
  • A willingness and desire to learn more and grow with our team
  • Ability to complete additional onboarding requirements by a given deadline
