The TF-CBT Clinician for Out-Patient Services will provide individual and family therapy to an assigned client population receiving clinic services. The Clinician will lead, with the assistance of his/her Clinical Supervisor, the development of the treatment plan for out-patient services. The Clinician will provide services as indicated by the assessment and treatment plan coordination with the anticipated goal of discharge from clinic services. Through supervision with the Clinical Supervisor, the performance of essential duties will be monitored and evaluated.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a mental health discipline, such as clinical psychology, mental health counseling, clinical social work, or other clinically related discipline. The degree must have prepared the student for provision of clinical services via a practicum and internship experience provided in a clinical setting with children and adolescents, with on-site supervision. Online degrees without direct clinical supervision will not be accepted.
A minimum of one-year’s post-Master’s verified paid experience providing clinical services to children and adolescents is required. Less than one (1) years requires enhanced clinical supervision. Trained and proficient in TF-CBT. Certification in TFCBT is preferred.
Active Clinical Licensure in Pennsylvania: as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (with clinical social work degree), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (with experience treating children/adolescents), or Licensed Psychologist, is preferred but not required.
Other duties may be assigned.
• Provide individual and family therapy for an assigned caseload.
• Participate in the identification of need through the development and implementation of the treatment plan by attending treatment team meetings.
Adhere to the following goals of the TF-CBT treatment model for children who have suffered traumatic events:
• Teaching children and their non-offending caregivers adaptive coping skills
• Assisting children to emotionally and cognitively process their traumatic experiences
• Reducing the emotional and behavioral reactions exhibited by children
• Facilitating children's adjustment to placement when needed
• Assisting non-offending caregivers in responding to their child's reactions as well as helping them cope with their own feelings related to the trauma(s)
• Working with caregivers and children in joint sessions to improve interaction, enhance communication and practice personal safety skills to help reduce the risk of future victimization
• Document all clinical activities which includes treatment plans/updates, progress notes and clinical summaries as needed.
• Coordinate/monitor treatment services provided in conjunction with other professionals (i.e. psychiatrist, partial hospitalization program).
• Consult with the social worker in the development of the individualized behavior plan and keep informed of the progress.
• Participate in court proceedings and agency contacts where his/her clinical knowledge and expertise is needed to advocate for the child’s best interest.
• In collaboration with team members, keep informed of the client’s educational plan; provide consultation to teachers and other school personnel on clinical issues as needed.
• Participate in the review of treatment goals and discharge planning.
• In crisis, will provide consultation to staff and caregivers as needed.
• Maintain relationships with Managed Care companies and obtain approval for treatment as needed.
• Keep informed of current trends in diagnosis and treatment.
• Provide education to staff, caregivers and legal guardians regarding treatment interventions.

• Abide by all policies and procedures established as practice at Bethanna. This will include administrative, personnel, and clinical policies.
• Maintain good daily attendance, be punctual in arriving for work, and follow all attendance requirements.

• Use agency resources conscientiously:
o Company cars (if made available for the employee’s use) are to be kept clean
and submitted for regular maintenance and inspection/registration.
o The employee will demonstrate safe driving practices while driving for work
o Office space, supplies and equipment are to be utilized for work purposes and should be maintained in good condition.
• Participate in staff meetings and staff trainings.
• Participate in program/agency events.

• Follow through with decisions/expectations of agency and supervisor.
• Meet weekly with the Clinical Supervisor to discuss performance and other issues.
• Participate with on-call responsibilities as scheduled.

The TF-CBT Clinician for Out-Patient Services will be supervised by the Clinical Supervisor, on a once per week basis, to discuss performance and clinical and administrative issues.
The TF-CBT Clinician for Out-Patient Services will receive a written evaluation at three months, six months, and then yearly thereafter. This evaluation will be completed by the Clinical Supervisor and approved by the appropriate administrator. The evaluation will include statements of a positive nature, recognizing areas of achievement, as well as areas needing continued emphasis and growth. The evaluation shall incorporate judgments as to performance compared to the above job description.
