Data Manager

*Non-Exempt Position*

(30 hours per week)

BYA’s holistic services are designed to shift so-called “individuals at-risk” into “individuals with promise” by utilizing a continuum of care approach that emphasizes 3 core areas: Education, Health and Well-Being, and Economic Self-Sufficiency. To do this work, we create teams of diverse professionals from the fields of education, mental health, workforce development, and recreation that work collaboratively to meet the psycho-social, emotional, and economic needs of those most vulnerable in our community. We meet individuals where they are and build upon any gift, talent or ability that they possess. We inspire them to reach their full potential with staff who act as coaches and mentors that help individuals captain their own ships.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director and the Associate Director, the Data Manager collects data on services and activities for compliance, reports, and invoicing for BYA’s multiple programs and activities. This position requires that the person be able to handle some ambiguity at times, that the person share in the values of the organization, and that the person believes in the ability of youth and families to change their lives with assistance. The person in this position must be able to absorb lots of information from multiple departments and multiple people. Finally, this position requires a person of high integrity.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Requests data from staff and departments. Compiles statistics and report information for the following BYA programs:

1)    Alameda County Workforce Development Board

2)    Alameda County Probation Department

3)    Medi-Cal Administrative Activities

4)    City of Berkeley

5)    Alameda County Social Services Agency

 

6)    Contra Costa County Children’s Mental Health Services

7)    Alameda County Medi-Cal

Center for Healthy Schools and Communities

8)    Other programs as necessary

 

2. Ensures that data reports are entered and uploaded on a timely basis for BYA’s various contracts and grants.

 

3. Provides quality assurance reviews for data entered into various systems.

 

4. Attends relevant partner meetings to learn about and keep abreast of changes in reporting requirements.

 

5. Enters information into BYA’s Database, Salesforce, and other data systems required by contracts.

 

6. Helps administrative staff with invoicing.

 

7. Helps produce the Annual Report on programs and services as well as the quarterly newsletter.

 

8. Makes presentations on program data to the Board of Directors and key stakeholders.

 

9. Provides technical assistance to staff compiling data.

 

10. Creates Customer Satisfaction Surveys as well as distributes County and City surveys via SurveyMonkey and hardcopy.

 

11. Manages Data dashboard on the BYA website.

 

Performs other duties as necessary or as requested by your Supervisor.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Human Services, Management and 3-4 years working experience
  • Some Salesforce experience a plus
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Excel
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Proven ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information and act with discretion in all matters

-Valid California Driver's License or State Identification

HOURS: Up to 30 hours per week

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with Budget, Education, and Experience
