An ElectricalEstimator will be responsible for calculating the cost of electricalconstruction by reviewing and evaluating available documents and developingaccurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for a variety of nationalelectrical projects. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviewand evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and otherrelevant project documents to identify what is needed for a project and tocreate a bid proposal.
Calculatethe cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating availabledocuments.
Analyzeproject for value engineering options while taking into account specific jobconditions that may affect labor and material to be purchased and installed.
Identifyany inconsistent issues, conflicts, and other problems in the bid documents.
Identifystrategies to create bid advantages.
Anticipatepotential problems and devise solutions proactively.
Requestmaterial and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers.
Reviewsquotes to confirm adherence to quote requests and accuracy of quotes received.
Developsand maintains a positive relationship with vendors.
Preparesbid documents including specific scope letter for each project, Blue Sheetsand Evaluations with adjustments for buy-outs, labor rate, productivity, etc.
Assistin preparing budget pricing.
Attendestimating/sales meetings, and project meetings to discuss bid status, andpresent/resolve issues.
Mayperform job walks to ensure that any field conditions have been observed thatmay affect the construction, may impact the prospective bid, and/or may impactthe pre-construction designs and the build services.
KeepsCompany management, project management, clients, general contractors, and allothers involved in projects current on bid progress.
5 years of electrical estimating experience for commercial and industrialprojects
Accustomedto estimating for projects valued at $5 million and above
Advancedskills with Excel, Word and Outlook
Excellenttime management and organizational skills
Experienceutilizing Accubid is preferred
