$17.3420 per hr.

Monday - Friday

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Brief Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs clerical and administrative work for the Justice of the Peace civil and criminal court system in Precinct 4, Place 2.

Specific Duties Include:

Performs clerical duties for the department by typing correspondence and reports, making files, filing, making copies, entering data into computer, assisting visitors with questions, processing forms and managing records, assisting in court with the Judge during various court hearings.

Job Skills:

Position requires general office and telephone skills. Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment including computers, copier, typewriter, calculator, and facsimile machine. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.

Personal Skills:

Ability to meet the public in a professional, polite, and effective manner. Excellent communication skills are a must. Bi-lingual helpful. Willing to learn, work well independently and be a self-starter. Interested in playing an important role in the judicial system.

Education and Work Experience:

High School Diploma or GED with two years of clerical/administrative experience or a combination of two years of work-related education and experience.
