Job Description

Behind the Design is looking for an enterprising, self-starting Outside Sales Representative in the West Sacramento, CA area. As an Outside Sales Representative, you have the opportunity to learn about the high-end window treatment industry, getting your foot in the door of a booming market.

What The Role Entails:

You will recognize and cultivate potential sales leads, travel to meet with prospective clients for in-home consultations, and endeavor to transform one-off sales into lasting beneficial relationships. You will use your skills in deal closing and product demonstration to help clients make decisions about their ideal custom window treatments for their homes.

How Do We Support You:

  • Paid Training - A base stipend of $2,600 a month (plus commission after 3 weeks) during an extensive hands-on training program that will guarantee your success out of the gate
  • Sign-On Bonus - $1,000 sign-on bonus available on your first paycheck!
  • Leads - So you can focus on managing the customer experience and building your repeat/referral accounts (higher commission rate for “self-generated business” of 14%)
  • Support - We give you sample books and everything else you need for your in-home consultations and provide in-house project management and installation teams to see your dream designs through

What We Offer:

  • Compensation - A commission plan that provides endless opportunities to make between $70-100k in the first year with the potential to do over $120k
  • Commission Pay-Out - 100% commission paid at time of sale and will be reflected on the next paycheck
  • Bonuses - Extensive bonus structure that is performance-based
  • Mileage Reimbursement - $22/a day stipend
  • Benefits - Health insurance, PTO, Holidays, 401k
  • Full Time - Shifts from 8-5 pm or 10-7 pm Tuesday-Saturday

Core Responsibilities:

  • Travel within your territory to meet clients one-on-one in their homes within a 50-mile radius
  • Execute in-home consultations using different textiles and fabrics to help design and sell clients’ dream window coverings
  • Manage and track sales and progress in customer relationship management software
  • Support customers after initial sales to ensure satisfaction and potential future sales
  • Join networking groups throughout the community to help build business rapport and new leads

What You'll Need:

  • At least 3 years of sales experience
  • HIS License preferred (Home Improvement Salesperson License)
  • Available transportation to courier samples to customers' homes 3-4 times daily
  • Experience using different technologies (Email, CRM, iPad/tablet)
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
