Job Description

Behavioral Health Group (BHG), a leading provider of opioid addiction treatment services. BHG provides medication assisted treatment and counseling services in a conventional outpatient setting.

The Regional Director supervises the daily operations of a geographic network of opiate treatment centers to include the direct supervision of the treatment center’s Program Directors and, by extension, each treatment center’s performance in the following key areas: operations, financial, staffing, training, compliance, outreach, and customer service. The Regional Director will perform duties within the scope of their license or certification which, when applicable, are an addendum to this job description.


Professional Development

  • Responsible for the leadership, interpersonal skill development, and mentoring of Program Directors and other key leaders within the Regional Director’s assigned region
  • Responsible for the establishment and monitoring of treatment centers’ specific annual goals and objectives

Training

  • Assistance in the development of training programs

Operational Efficiency and Financial Performance

  • Responsible for ensuring efficient operations within each treatment center across the region
  • Responsible for driving Treatment Center growth efforts
  • Responsible for monitoring the region’s treatment centers and related infrastructure to ensure they are maintained at a high standard of quality in both form and function
    Responsible for proactively monitoring and addressing treatment centers’ performance issues

Staffing

  • Ensuring team members within their region are qualified by appropriate education, credentials, and training
  • Ensuring all team members maintain licensure as required by the state, federal, and licensing authorities
  • Responsible for maintaining an adequate mix of team members necessary to provide best in class patient care
  • Responsible for monitoring adherence to BHG’s medical model of treatment and patient-centric culture in which addiction is viewed as a brain disease, nor a moral failing
  • Monitor Team Member Performance
  • Oversee Hiring & Termination
  • Approve Timekeeping & Payroll

Regulatory

  • Responsible for ensuring all treatment centers within the assigned region adhere to all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring all team members are familiar with and can effectively communicate all current regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of a positive working relationship with all key regulatory decision-makers and persons of influence within the assigned region.
  • Responsible for the execution and/or supervision of all formal communications and coordination efforts with key regulatory decision-makers and persons of influence within the region
  • Responsible for monitoring and keeping management and key leaders apprised of all regulatory changes as they occur within their assigned region

Compliance

  • Partner with the VP of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs
  • Monitor treatment center and team member compliance through testing, periodic local audits, formal and informal surveys, and by coordinating internal and third-party audit efforts
  • Ensure that assigned team members and treatment centers are prepared for a federal, state, or accrediting agency inspection and meet the annual accrediting agency reporting requirements at all times

Outreach

  • Responsible for the execution and supervision/monitoring of marketing and outreach activities assigned by the Director of Marketing Communications
  • Ensure the marketing and outreach programs are efficiently and effectively executed
  • Responsible for periodic gathering and organizing of critical data and feedback related to marketing and outreach activities

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of five years demonstrated experience growing a multi-location health care service business and owning the P&L performance of the organization. 
  • Experience in working in a decentralized corporate-owned environment and have scaled a local treatment center utilizing the support and resources of a corporate parent. 
  • Knowledge of the full spectrum of business building including sales and marketing, operations management, budget development and management, HR, IT, facility management, safety, accreditation and quality of care. 
  • Successful in a highly regulated environment where adherence to state and federal regulation is a high priority.
  • Comfortable working with physicians and physician extenders to leverage growth and development of the treatment centers. 
  • Well versed on current drug abuse and treatment information - specifically the current trends in Opioid Maintenance Treatment.
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time within a local geographical territory.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Management or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
