This individual provides direct patient care as the Center's Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established nurse practitioner standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
Pulmonary and Critical Care Inpatient hospital setting required.Prefer experience in Critical Care, Pulmonary. Experience: Prefer previous experience as a Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Room.
Assessments-Provides on-going assessments of assigned patients. Utilizes diagnostic test results and imaging studies to come up with a plan of care for patients. Completes assessments in a timely manner. Informs physician of abnormal assessment findings and collaborates to alter the plan of care as necessary. Communicates assessment findings to the multidisciplinary team. Diagnostics- Interprets a wide variety of lab results and diagnostic studies. Informs Physician of abnormal. Alters plan of care appropriately based on these results. Utilizes the Physician Portal as appropriate. Places Invasive lines and performs procedures within scope of practice. Documentation-Provides accurate and timely documentation in the patient record. Completes H&P and PA note on each patient and as needed. Utilizes physician portal to obtain needed information on a regular basis. Prepares for rounds on a routine basis. Promotes prevention- Takes the opportunity to teach patients and family how to take measures to prevent illness as appropriate. Evaluation- Consistently evaluates outcomes of patient care with the Physician and multidisciplinary team. Receives feedback during rounds and improves plan of care based on that discussion. Risk Assessment- Assess patients risk for a variety of procedures. Assists in choosing the plan of care with the Physician that will yield a positive patient outcome. Communication- Presents relevant patient information during daily ICU rounds and as needed. Communicates changes to the Physician and Multidisciplinary team as needed. Makes urgent patient care issues a priority. Consults on patients in the Emergency Department and communicates those assessments to the Attending Physician. Coaching/Counseling- Provides feedback to the team to provide optimal patient care outcomes. Coaches family members on making difficult choices. Engages in difficult conversations with families as needed. Leadership. Maintains a positive work environment. Refrains from negative conversations in public forums Quality and Timeliness of Work-Completes charting and documentation before ending the work shift. Completes relevant systems assessment on each patients and communicates abnormal findings to the Attending Physician.
