Job Description: POSITION EXPECTATIONS TITLE: CLINICAL DIRECTOR Job Purpose: The Clinical Director is responsible for the management, organization and oversight of all administrative, clinical and service functions of the clinical staff. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: Primary Responsibilities: · Supervise and evaluate the performance of clinical staff, assuring staff compliance with clinical, administrative and organizational responsibilities including developing metrics and monitoring productivity. · Develop expertise in Carelogic, the agency EHR (electronic health record). · Develop appropriate competencies for program staff; assess, develop and make operational educational and training needs of staff. · Chair regular clinical staff meetings. · Monitor intake for trends and appropriately assign cases. · Provide and document regular scheduled clinical supervision with individual clinicians and case managers including staff timeliness and thoroughness in the completion of all care delivery related paperwork. · Monitor and approve Clinical staff work and vacation schedules such that the needs of the Center are always adequately covered. · Hold monthly psychiatric meetings. Attendees should include the Executive Director, Operations Director, Psychiatrists, APN’s and RN. · Work effectively within the community and actively participate in community related activities that will enhance the reputation and impact of the agency in the community. · Participate cooperatively in performance improvement activities, committee work, mandatory in-services and strategic planning. · Represent the Agency with integrity and abide by the ethical statement of the Agency and protect confidentiality. · Maintain a small but reasonable case load. · Oversee the management and supervision of Crisis services during the absence of the Crisis Manager. · Planning enhancement of present services and creation of new services to meet community needs. Organizational Responsibilities: · Oversee the clinical budget in collaboration with Finance Director. · Be an active presence in the community to further the agency and its mission. · Participate in the Grant process for continuation of and enhancement of program funding. · Provide leadership and direct supervision to Program Managers. · Be available to staff on an “on-call” basis after regular business hours and provide after-hours coverage, as needed. · Assure the internship program operates effectively and within defined standards. · Participate in committee work as requested. · Work closely with Operations Director on regulatory requirements including CARF. · Represent the Agency with integrity and professionalism. · Oversee the in-service programs to meet training needs and clinical objectives. · Monitor staff licensure compliance. · Participate in Strategic Planning. Accountability: · In the absence of the President/Executive Director, the Clinical Director shall assume, in collaboration with the Finance Director, the full authority and responsibility for the agency’s program and direct service personnel and serve as liaison to the Board of Directors and community and state organizations. · Reports directly to the President/Executive Director. · Adheres to all Agency policies and procedures. Qualifications: · LCSW/LCPC Degree in a related mental health field with a valid Illinois license. · Demonstrated competence in interdisciplinary and inter-agency collaboration. · Minimum of five years of progressive and successful clinical management experience, preferably with a non-profit organization. · Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills. · Advanced oral and written communication skills. · Ability to think critically and analytically and to problem solve in both short and long term contexts. · An understanding of current thinking in the field of mental health, regarding clinical trends and best practices · Current and valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance · Working familiarity with Microsoft Office computer applications (Word, Excel) Physical Demands: · The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
