Title: Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
Under the supervision of the Program Director and Owner is responsible for running IOP group sessions and managing the case management needs of the clients of the Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
The duties of the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor are as follows:
- To meet with to assess each patient referred to the IOP to obtain information necessary to determine appropriateness for AOD treatment, and at what level of care.
- To facilitate IOP groups, including presenting on specific topics
- To facilitate Aftercare and Maintenance Groups
- To provide individual counseling as indicated by the individualized treatment plan (ITP)
- To create and change the ITP in collaboration with the patient and the clinical team
- To facilitate urine drug screens to be evaluated by the Company’s contracted lab as indicated for treatment
- To discuss with the client any unexpected urine screen results
- To monitor and manage the progress of patients through the IOP and through other levels of care
- To keep clinical notes in the IOP or Outpatient chart on each patient encounter
- To assess emergency medical situations and refer for appropriate care
- To provide case management services, such as collaboration with Children’s Services workers and Probation officers
- To provide or assist in providing crisis intervention services
- To assist in de-escalation of agitated individuals
- to participate in Quality Assurance procedures
- to participate regularly in supervisory clinical meetings such as case review or case conference
- to identify and report to the supervisory staff problem areas in the execution of activities and recommend actions toward solutions of the problems
- to assist in maintaining financial records to sustain viability of the program and to present such records to the Owner for review
- to maintain license, including all continuing education requirements
Qualifications:
- Licensure for Chemical Dependency Counselor
- 2 + years experience in treating individuals with Substance Use Disorders
- CPR training
Supervisor:
- Immediate supervisor is the Program Director
- Weekly group supervision by Owner and Program director
There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
