EMR Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary role of the EMR Analyst is to provide recurring and ad hoc financial reporting, information, and analyses to members of clinical teams and management. This role is a key contributor to the successful implementation and ongoing endeavors with AdvancedMD, the clinic electronic medical record.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists with maintenance of practice management and EMR systems
  • Assists with training of new providers
  • Compiles data for various administrative reports.
  • Together with the implementation team, assists with the project management of the EMR implementation and ensures deliverables are on track.
  • Works collaboratively across departments to understand and meet the organization's clinical quality analytic needs
  • Assists with new employee onboarding
  • Special projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field, or combination of education and healthcare-related work experience
  • Experience with electronic medical records required
  • Experience working with databases, large data sets, multiple data sources and interpreting complex data to create meaningful information
  • Maintains strong attention to details and prioritizes workload while meeting deliverables and expectations
  • Exhibits critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization and people skills.

Tools and Equipment Requirements

 

  • The ability to use a phone, computer, printer, and copier is required.
  • Frequent use of Microsoft office products, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to use the internet and various web browser software is required.

 

Physical Working Conditions and Office Setting Description

 

  • Some travel required to field locations to facilitate execution of responsibilities. Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance with, at minimum, state required insurance levels.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching.
  • Some lifting may be required.
  • Frequent and prolonged typing and frequent and prolonged operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones required.
  • Requires occasional use of fax machines, telephones, copiers, and other office equipment.
  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
