Job Description

We are currently seeking a Water Jet Operator for our Charlevoix, MI location.

$17 - $20 per hour, based upon experience.

The Waterjet Operator performs the duties and tasks listed below to complete production jobs on Waterjet
equipment per operation process sheets.  This Job Description is not meant to be all-inclusive, and
requirements may change according to the demands of this position.

 Responsible for operation, loading and unloading material and parts, operating controls, setting
parameters, deburring, and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements
 Dimension plates for process prior to cutting parts using quality system pre-check and first part
approval guidelines
 Develop part cutting sequences which optimize yield
 Utilize 5-Axis head to reduce post cutting machining requirements
 Loads and runs proven programs
 Confers with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors, and
to obtain approval to continue production
 Safely move and handle large, heavy metal sheet, plate and parts using proper equipment, including
overhead crane and forklift.
 Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative
maintenance functions on equipment.  
 Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
 Forklift license and overhead crane permits (company trained)

 Ability to conduct post-waterjet operations (deburring, polishing, etc.)
Education and Experience:
 High school diploma or equivalent
 Minimum of two years prior experience in waterjet set-up/operation
 Experience with other sheet metal and plate fabrication preferred
Physical Requirements:
 Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis
 The employee frequently is required to use hand and fingers in handling, grasping, or feeling objects,
tools, or controls for an extended period of time
