Project Manager, Distribution Center

The Project Manager of the Distribution Center maintains and oversees the grounds, buildings and equipment to ensure that all workspaces are safe and functional. The Project Manager will partner with other members of the Batteries Plus Distribution Center Leadership group to drive projects, WMS enhancements and facility improvements. The role will be responsible for being a subject matter expert for all WMS and DC processes.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects, ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
- Collaborate with Operations Manager on quality and productivity improvements
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Point person for all WMS related improvements, which includes collaborating with IT, Supply Chain Management and Project Management teams
- P&L responsibility for facility and material handling equipment expenses
- Supervise all staff facilities staff (custodians, technicians, etc.) and external contractors.
- Manage the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor spaces
- Inspect buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
- Lead and Manage process improvement projects to improve overall building efficiencies
- Resolve scheduling issues and conflicts between associates, IT teams, suppliers, customers, and other supporting entities
- Partner with the Training and Safety Supervisor to implement safety policies and programs to reduce frequency and severity of accidents and incidents
- Support all urgent maintenance requests in a timely fashion on all shifts
Qualifications:
- High school diploma plus 5 years of progressively responsible and related experience
- Minimum of 3 years of prior supervisory experience
- Previous change management experience - influencing and communicating at all impacted levels
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in operations management or business
- Experience with WMS functions and how they relate to operational procedures
including receiving, order processing, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting and reverse logistics - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. A basic understanding of accounting procedures and financial statements
- Be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including peak seasons and special events
- Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems
- Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
