The Project Engineer for Viper will support the JETS II contract supporting NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration.


  • Develop project documentation and maintain status of drawings, procurements, risks, etc.
  • Work with design and analysis teams to ensure project requirements are achieved.
  • Inspection of hardware upon receipt to verify match with fabrication drawing/models.
  • Test rig and equipment buildup as needed.
  • Data analysis of test results.
  • Assist project management with configuration control of project documentation.
  • Development of test procedures including working with various organizations across JSC for flight certification of


  • Develop presentations as needed.
  • Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress, issues, and needed support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Must have a minimum of 1+ years of recent and relevant work experience.
  • Experience with design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of hardware.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a hardware development field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.


  • Previous experience in designing and building unique hardware.
  • Previous experience with NASA JSC policies and procedures.
  • Previous assembly and testing experience.


  • This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
