A growing manufacturing company in Livermore is looking for a Facilities Supervisor.

Facilities Supervisor:

Under the direction and supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Supervisor oversees day-to-day janitorial operations, compliance and quality assurance for services provided. Directly supervises work activities of facilities team, assigns duties, inspect work and investigate complaints. Develop and maintain an ongoing training program for janitorial staff to ensure that a high level of service and cleanliness standards is achieved. Purchase supplies and equipment, take inventories, train new employees, recommend dismissals, etc. This person should be personable, interact well with others, be a strong team builder and believe that by providing high quality service the janitorial team will have a positive impact on the organization as a whole.

Job Description:

 Supervise assigned staff and performs personnel functions (e.g. evaluating, counseling, directing, training, inspecting, etc) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity or personnel, achieving objectives within budget and ensure customer complaints are addressed properly.

 Be available during business hours to meet client needs, coordinate with co-workers, oversee contract workers, and handle day-to-day operations necessary for the position and be able to be on-call after hours for any emergency that arises.

 Basic knowledge of packaging equipment to ensure minor troubleshooting and correct issues.

 Develops and manages a preventative/ scheduled long term cleaning maintenance program for the purpose of ensuring all properties and associated furnishings, finishes and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean and efficient working condition. Executes and maintains an effective cleaning program to minimize unscheduled down time and reduce the need for outside cleaning services.

 Inspect and evaluate cleaning procedures to ensure that best practices, most efficient methods and most green options are being used. Train staff to use best practices and modify training as new standards are developed.

 Ensure the compliance, availability, placement, proper storage, use and maintenance of all cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies.

 Provides or recommends training for employees in work methods, use of tools and equipment, and relevant safety precautions; models safe work methods.

Job Responsibilities:

 Work with Line set up personnel for the equipment needed for assembly line to run.

 Adhere to and oversee staff and trainees' compliance with Illness and Injury Prevention Program (IIPP) including safety training and OSHA regulations.

 Monitor and maintenance of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and train staff in their use.

 Develop a working knowledge and maintain existing contracts that includes pest control hazardous/ medical waste, waste disposal services.

 Perform regular quality, service, safety and site inspections, and provide written documentation for proper record-keeping. Schedule set up and clean up for meetings and parties.

 Represents the organization in a professional and courteous manner. Ensure the janitorial team is professional in appearance and demeanor at all times. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

 Achieve economical operating costs by effective utilization of equipment and employee time in accordance with established budgets. Monitor department expenses.

 Support and lead process improvement initiatives.

 Facilities cleaning & sanitation as needed

 Assist with physical inventory counts

 Maintain cGMP Compliance

 Responsible for all the equipment in the plant.


 Minimum of (4) four years of supervisory experience with both skilled and unskilled workers.

 High school diploma or equivalent

 Knowledge of GMP in a pharmaceutical or personal care industry.

 Ability to follow strict written instructions.

 Ability to lift up to 70lbs.

 Be able to read and write in English and fill out paper work

 Strong attention to detail

 Strong ability to troubleshoot all electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems

 Excellent verbal and some written communication skills. Communicate effectively with Management and personnel of all departments.

 Must be authoritative while maintaining flexibility, creativity, assertiveness and ability to communicate and get along with a diverse group of employees.

 Must have strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with ability to prioritize, manage multi-functional task, and work effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints.

 Exhibit a professional standard and strong work ethic.

 Appropriate time management skills.

 Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

 Motivated self-starter with ability to work in a team environment.

 Consistent performance with a sense of urgency and commitment.

 Ability to create efficient work plans and project scheduling to accomplish both daily and larger scheduled cleaning procedures.

 Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl, and reach for extended periods of time.

 Must be able to be on-call and work overtime.

 Must have a valid State of California Driver's license.

 Must have a reliable form of transportation. Must be able to travel to various locations on demand.

 Must have a good understanding of computer skills including e-mail, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Ability to lean new platforms used for purchasing, scheduling, and asset management.
