Skilled Labor/Assistant Superintendent

Local Construction Contractor looking for a new member of our team. Team Barnsley is looking for a skilled technician/carpenter that is willing to learn and wanting to grow their abilities with our company.
Perform tasks including metal and wood framing, hang and finish drywall, misc carpentry, operate power tools. Skills may include use of measuring equipment, erecting scaffolding, clean up debris and reading blueprints.
Misc Task may include:
Reading and understanding blueprints
Taking measurements and calculating material needed
Assisting in construction layout
Framing and Drywall
Cleaning and preparing construction sites
Loading and unloading materials and equipment
Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures
Digging trenches, compacting earth and backfilling holes
Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans
Assisting other skilled tradespeople in their duties
Obeying health and safety codes, as well as the company's principles
Five (5) years minimum Field experience in trade
Ability to work with others to achieve job goals
Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)
Wear and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Willingness to learn and be flexible
Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills
Stand or walk for long periods of time
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
See well (naturally or with correction)
Good physical fitness
Good sense of balance
Work at great heights
This position is supervised by the Project Superintendent or Operations Superintendent and would be expected to receive and understand directions from their supervisors.
Construction Workers perform physically demanding work including lifting and carrying heavy objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling in awkward positions. Some work at great heights, or outdoors in all weather conditions.
