Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of all day-to-day operations and activities within Staff Development, including education, practice and leadership. This position provides leadership, sets goals, encourages professional growth opportunities and establishes priorities for assigned Staff Development Specialists. Achieves and evaluates education activities to achieve desired outcomes. Represents project and driving cross stream and cross priority while defining deliverables and ensuring that expectations are met. The Staff Development Director works independently to use defined methods/techniques for project tasks by utilizing existing standards and structures for communicating project results.
Responsible for establishing strategic direction for assigned projects and developing project plans that identify key issues, potential problems, approaches, performance metrics and resources.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Education or a closely related field. Master's Degree Preferred. Minimum of three (3) years experience in healthcare with leadership experience in education, management or clinical specialty. Prior experience in establishing strategic directions for assigned projects and developing project plans.
Knowledge of adult education principles, teaching/facilitating, standards of practice, JCAHO standards/regulatory requirements, performance improvement, learning methodologies, communication and leadership principles required.
