I. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
Graduate of a school of nursing. Possesses a current RN license in the state of Kentucky. CPR certification required. Must have a valid driver's license. Minimum of one year nursing experience preferred. Must successfully complete annual Chemotherapy Competency Checklist. Must successfully complete the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration and the ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy course, when eligible (every 2 years). OCN certification strongly encouraged but not mandatory.
II. Skills and Abilities Required
Strong interpersonal skills required. Must have excellent communication and time management aptitudes. Must be able to work closely with others, as part of a team Prioritization, critical thinking and effective decision-making are essential. Delegation skills consistent with level of professional growth necessary. Ability to work flexible schedule when patient needs arise.
Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possess ability to supervise CMA'a and students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

Collects assessment information/ Utilizes critical decision making skills. Communicates patient information to provider & implements MD orders
Safely administers chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
Triages phone callsPerforms procedures per hospital Policy & Procedure Recognizes and acts promptly in emergency situations. Performs technical skills (initiating IV's, accessing and care of CVAD's, performing Accuchecks, Use of crash cart in emergency situations ...)
Demonstrates correct actions in the event of a chemo spill. Communicates effectively with other team members and ancillary departments. Facilitates optimal patient outcomes and concurrently evaluates opportunities to improve patient outcomes.
