Line of Business Description: Role is part of the client support/ CPC (Centralized Procedures & Correspondence) team within the Life & Specialty Servicing (L&SS) division. Role is responsible for leading / owning Model Risk Management requirements.Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving consistent methodology, documentation, and performance across teams.
  • Monitoring and improving forecasting performance and efficiency.
  • Coaching others on Statistical Modeling best practices and helping to drive innovation across the team in a way that is consistent with this bank's risk policies and procedure.
  • Analyzes actual and predictable interacting operational activities of a business system to obtain quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques.
  • Devises modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operations research techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.) and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.
  • Develops challenger models supporting operations.
  • Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Works on usually complex technical problems and provides innovative solutions.
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Interacts with senior partners on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Enterprise Description: Analyzes actual and predictable interacting operational activities of a business system to obtain quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques. Devises modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operations research techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.) and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines. Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Works on usually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Work is performed without appreciable discretion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objective of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results. Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendation would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives. Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Associates typically have advanced degree in Operations Research/Industrial Engineering/Applied Mathematics with a minimum of 2 years related experience. Experience with modeling languages like OPL-Studio, AMPL or GAMS. Experience with discrete event simulation software such as Arena/SIMAN, Extend, ProModel or iGrafx. Experience in C/C++, Visual Basic Applications (VBA).

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience as a professional, modeling-analyst (forecasting, regression analysis, time-series, etc.)
  • Fundamental understanding, and experience with Linear-Regression/Time-Series/Statistical Modeling; both through school and professional experience.
  • Experience with SAS / Python, R, or similar statistical software coding.
  • Tableau / Data visualization / or Other.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team-oriented environment with strong aptitude for problem solving and collaboration with ability to coach others.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills: specifically the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner key stake holders.
  • Natural curiosity and drive to answer important business questions.
  • Current/prior executive presentation experience with ability to tell the story about the data.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • High aptitude for self-motivation and self-determined project work.
  • Data mining experience using SQL/SAS querying.
  • Bank of America/Banking Industry Analytics Experience specifically with documenting models for Model Risk Management Remediation.
  • Master's degree in in Mathematics/Statistics/Applied Economics/Operations Research/Advanced Analytics, or equivalent work experience.
