About the Role

Lead and oversee all preferred partner, business-to-business (B2B) Department of Defense (DoD)-related accounts to including administrative actions, communications, sales and business development. The purpose of Babel Street Account Executives is to 1) build a strong pipeline of prospects; 2) nurture through listening to prospects and educating them regarding Babel Street offerings; and 3) manage the contract process from start to finish – working with external businesses, revenue leadership, sales operations, and Babel Street Legal.


Babel Street’s DoD revenue team is seeking an Account Executive who wants to join a growing, industry-leading software company. As an Account Executive, you will spend the majority of your time in lead development and lead nurturing activities surrounding our main preferred partners. You’ll be responsible for lead qualification, presentations and all 1-on-1 contractual communications. The right candidate for this role will be an expert at realizing how Babel Street software can support the DoD mission set. Professionalism, strong work ethic, adaptability and expertise in USG and B2B relationship building are keys to quota achievement and ultimate sales success.

  • Make outbound calls to medium and large B2B accounts
  • Target, develop and prioritize a pipeline of DoD-related US Government contract opportunities
  • Assist in developing new use cases for various DoD business efforts
  • Educate clients about terminology, features and benefits of Babel Street software products
  • Maintain account relationships to secure renewals and grow client satisfaction
  • Increase sales by up-selling additional products and/or licenses within current accounts
  • Scout out new clients and develop new relationships to grow your account base
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales quota objectives
  • Maintain full and accurate company CRM records with all sales activity to ensure accurate forecasting and deal history


  • Proven track record as a successful lead generator and account manager, including attainment and over-achievement of sales revenue goals and accurate pipeline and forecasting management
  • Good understanding of applicable, large account DoD contracts and business books
  • Must be a self starter. Strong work is required to execute your own strategies of lead generation and pipeline development
  • 5+ years of successful US Government sales experience in the technology sector selling SaaS or SaaS like B2B solutions
  • Exemplary communication & writing skills and demonstrated good business judgment are required
  • Proven ability to embrace a solution-oriented approach to selling
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple deals from multiple companies at the same time
  • Active security clearance or background check preferred, not required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant work experience are required.
  • Previous DoD work experience either active duty military, US Government civilian or contractor supporting DoD preferred

Job Essentials:

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 5 days per month, if required (Pending COVID considerations/restrictions)
  • Understanding of MS Office and accounting management tools like QuickBase, SFDC or equivalents are important
  • Excellent listening and communication skills are required
  • Understanding the clients perspective through research and questions, and solutioning based on client input and your proactive research are essential
  • Creative solutioning and a history of mid to large accounts executive management sales are required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Work location in Ashburn, VA or Tampa, FL —preferred; other options include Starkville, MS, Overland Park, KS
