Job Title: Jr.Chemical Operations Technician - Painesville, OHStyropek is the North American leader in the EPS (Expandable Polystyrene) industry and the largest EPS producer on the American Continent.Our certified products are utilized across many applications, including building, packaging, and automotive.We are currently seeking a Jr.Operations Technician for our facility in Painesville, OH.This position performs a variety of product packaging and material movement and handling activities, including bagging finished product, labeling, warehousing, shipping and receiving.Other responsibilities include but are not limited to operating lift trucks, quality control, minor maintenance and area housekeeping.Styropek's Painesville plant is located about 30 miles northeast of Cleveland, OH.The site manufactures expandable styrenics products used in the construction and packaging industries.Responsibilities:Participates in product packaging process and maintains... packaging area and supplies.Transfers raw material from warehouse to appropriate buildings.Perform inventories of finished product and raw materials.Closely monitor all his/her equipment to detect any early warning signs of performance deviations.Conducts frequent checks for process preventive maintenance and prepares equipment for maintenance.Identifies and troubleshoots process equipment and problems and may provide maintenance as needed.Performs minor maintenance on a variety of equipment, including but not limited to replacement of valves, gauges and pipes; unplugging lines, vents and drains; replacing and cleaning filters; and lubrication of machinery.Performs product testing and monitors finished product for quality control and takes corrective action as needed in accordance with ISO procedures.Operate and maintain lift trucks and other equipment as assigned.Maintains the work environment to ensure it is clean, orderly and safe.Assist other operators and work teams.Performs all responsibilities according to safety standards consistent with all operating procedures and processes.Qualifications:High school education or equivalent with advanced training and education preferred, with 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated ability to handle physically and mentally demanding jobsDemonstrated mechanical aptitude with understanding of general mechanics and equipment functionStrong oral and written communications skillsProven commitment to safety, protecting the environment and product qualityExcellent interpersonal and team skillsSAP knowledge a plusAbility to work shifts and overtime as needed/requiredPay and Benefits:Competitive pay.Benefits include: 401(k), 401(k) matching, Dental insurance, Disability insurance, Employee assistance program, Flexible spending account, Health insurance, Health savings account, Life insurance, Paid time off, Vision insurance
