Job Description
Responsibilities: Working collaboratively and effectively with other attorneys and staff, clients, and lay and expert witnesses. Developing and pursuing litigation in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and administrative forums Overseeing all aspects of case development Completing legal research and drafting pleadings, briefs, and discovery Executing all facets of discovery and motion practice Preparing for and participating in hearings and trials Editing and negotiating leases, easements, and other agreements Qualifications: Applicants must be law school graduates who are or will be admitted to the state bar of North Dakota. The ideal applicant will have: A demonstrated interest in natural resource protection, property rights, public interest law, and the environment Initiative, excellent analytical abilities, an excellent academic record, intellectual curiosity, good judgment, a healthy sense of humor, and a willingness to travel occasionally Superb research, writing, and oral advocacy skills Communicative agility Willingness to work hard and manage a full caseload Compensation: This is a full-time position with an excellent benefits package, including fully paid health insurance.
