Staff Accountant

BOTH Management Services (corporate office located in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach, Virginia) provides full accounting services to a chain of 13 restaurants in three states, with 750+ employees. The Staff Accountant II provides assistance and support to the Store Operations Accounting Team and the Director of Restaurant Accounting and maintains strict compliance to the Accounting Procedure Manual ensuring accurate reporting of all general accounting documents.  In addition to general filing, using a multi-line phone, and routine office tasks, the Staff Accountant II will be responsible for the following: daily cash report reconciliation and posting; bi-weekly payroll processing; process child support; process and post state withholding tax and sales and use tax; gift card analysis posted daily; download bank data and reconcile to general ledger weekly; reconcile bank statement weekly; monitor and process A/R weekly; A/P - post invoices weekly, process payments and prepare for mailing on 1st and 15th of each month; provide phone support and assistance to store management personnel regarding administrative matters; maintain and stay current with all filing paperwork; assist where needed at period-end close.Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years experience in the accounting field
Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel and WordHours:
Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm with a 30 minute lunch break, or 8 am to 5 pm with a 1 hour break. Occasionally at period end some overtime may be requiredDress Code:
