Overview

This is a full time hybrid position reporting to the CEO. The Director of Commercial Operations is a member of the Leadership Team and is responsible for the oversight and management of the post contract project cycle for all Commercial customers. The Director of Commercial Operations provides day-to-day supervision of customer experience, design and engineering, inspections, monitoring, service, and all field and back office activities related to the physical construction of solar PV systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach and develop a dedicated commercial operations Team leveraging a combination of internal and external resources
  • Work closely and effectively with all company teams to ensure consistency and efficiency throughout the company
  • Participate in strategic and operational planning with the CEO and other key stakeholders
  • Evaluate and manage the resources and processes required for the successful completion of a high volume of commercial solar projects
  • Actively support and advise on site evaluations, design and engineering, permitting and interconnection, project scheduling, installations, warehousing functions and service calls
  • Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and Productivity throughout Commercial operations; ensure adherence and compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Analyze performance data and ensure optimal performance; ensure project quality is at or above standards while meeting installation and operational KPIs
  • Adjust resources in line with capacity and performance targets, oversee procurement and manage inventory levels; anticipate market and material shifts and proactively adjust as needed

Qualifications

  • Track record of leading successful construction management/operations teams
  • Ability to drive a vehicle during the normal course of business
  • Strong people skills, collaborator, looking to succeed as a team
  • 8+ years business/construction management experience
  • Solar experience preferred, engineering experience a strong plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Operationally focused and detailed oriented
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word and project management tools
  • Unrestricted construction supervisors license (CSL) or ability to obtain one within six months
  • OSHA 40, NABCEP and PMP certifications preferred
