We are looking for a React Native developer interested in building performant iOS mobile apps, starting with our MVP app. You will report directly to the VP of Tech and you will be responsible for architecting and building these applications, as well as coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to perfection is required.
Specs and wireframes of MVP app available upon request.
Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.
Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
Reach out to the open-source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes—React Native moves fast and often breaks things.
Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
Transition existing React web apps to React Native.
Maintain and develop internal design system components
Work in collaboration with UI designers to implement and refine user experience
Knowledge of functional and/or object-oriented programming
Experience creating React component libraries
Expertise in front end technologies such as CSS, HTML5, and Yoga
Rock-solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
Experience with Google Cloud and Firebase applications
Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode & Gradle
Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest or Mocha
Experience using build automation tools like Fastlane
You will be taking on an early role at the formative stage of one of the next great tech companies. We want your feedback, your ideas, and your partnership. You’ll be working in a challenging and fun work environment.
If you were to become a full-time employee other benefits would include:
Fun fact: We believe in emotional health days, we call them “Cat Days”. We require all full-time employees to take at least 2 every quarter.
Everyone has BSE (Big Sis Energy) - Everyone has a valuable story to tell and a unique perspective to share that can help someone. We strive to connect people to the relevant journeys and support of others who "get it". By sharing your story we can make it easier for those who come after us.
‘Should’ Is Optional - Others will always have opinions about how you 'should' do things and who you 'should' be--believe us we’ve been told that a time or two. Instead of spending time ‘shoulding’ on ourselves, we problem-solve with resilience and innovation. We encourage our users to have the same level of bravery and self-sovereignty.
Simple Is Scalable - It’s easy to get overwhelmed by problems and buried in indecision and stress. Stop, step back, and focus on the next right thing. With focus, we break things down to their most simple parts and find the most authentic and scalable solutions for us and the community as a whole.
Trust Builds Community - Trust is the foundation of any community and determines our success as a company. We show trust with our users and our team members by listening and welcoming radical candor in return. We trust you to tell us what’s up and we expect you to communicate constructive, honest feedback to help us build the experiences and products that will benefit the entire community.
Emotions are the Heart Data - Google gave us topical relevance, social media gave us social relevance, we believe emotional relevance is the next frontier of technology- making our human emotions the most powerful form of data. To deliver a personalized, safe, and magical user experience, we will translate our users’ emotions, individually and as a community, into data that can connect people with what they need most. We pledge to care for our users’ emotions and data with the utmost care and privacy.

What We Build
We build community products with “big-sis energy” that help users express, share, and reflect on the entire spectrum of life’s emotional moments.
Our first product is a digital big sis named “Blue” that Gen Z all over the country text message about their lives to get next-step recommendations based on their core emotional needs.
Now we’re building an app to give our users a more robust, personally supportive experience.
