Supervises and coordinates the work of employees who work on a mechanical and/or binder operations in an effort to optimize labor, material and time. The position is accountable for labor efficiency, on-time delivery, quality & safety.
Supervisor is empowered to make decisions regarding:
Stop production to ensure quality;
Inner department material flow.
Supervisor shall bear final responsibility for the following areas:
Schedules employees to maximize throughput and quality
Monitors efficiency and throughput to meet production schedules
Monitors quality to ensure product is produced to meet customer requirements. Inspects & approves 1st off product at each operation.
Ensures paper work is completed including quality check sheets, shipping/receiving logs & operator efficiency sheets. Reviews sheets for accuracy and turns in to appropriate manager.
Develops employees skills and implements cross training plan.
Perform periodic evaluations of individuals;
Implements lean manufacturing initiatives including: 5S, setup reduction, waste reduction, efficiency improvement
Identify, prioritize eliminate root cause issues that cause production inefficiencies;
Ensures production area is organized and clean.

On time and complete shipments (relative to Promise Dates)
Two years of supervision in a manufacturing setting.
