BBSI is looking for a seasoned Plant Manager to support the operations of a growing manufacturing company in the Inland Empire area. This role requires a methodical, driven attitude, high organization and attention to detail.
Coordinates and manages production, distribution, warehousing, and cost accounting in accordance with company policies, principles, and procedures. The Plant Manager supervises all the processes of the plant to assure the efficiency of all the procedures that are being followed in the plant operations and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assure that the equipment and tools used in the processes of the plant activities are well maintained and are at their best conditions
Estimate the financial needs of the plant in a specific period of time depending on the repairs and other requirements of the operations
Perform specific tasks that are needed to be done for the completion of the plant activities
Perform other work functions when required, especially in the absence of a plant worker or when an employee needs assistance with regards to knowing his or her job functions
Assure that minor repairs are being done to prevent items from being broken or unusable in the work environment
Work in concert with other staff members to ensure coordination of raw material purchasing, production, and shipping of finished products
Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules
Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation.
Supervise the installation and movement of different plant equipment depending on the needs of operations
Inspect all the areas of the plant to know the areas that are needed to be improved or changed
Sole responsibility for all shifts and be responsible for managing all shifts supervisors, production manager, 150 hourly employees, and 7 processing / packaging lines.
Monitor and report daily production results, material usage, waste and downtime.
Manage, plan, direct, and coordinate work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing, maintenance, quality, processing and packaging.
Efficient use of labor and materials, including planning all production activities, planning daily work flow, production scheduling and resource planning allocation.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Strategic involvement with leading continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma and similar methodologies.
Minimum of an Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent
8-10 years of manufacturing experience
Preferably skilled in Business Management, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or similar
5+ years of food, consumer products or other related manufacturing experience
5+ years of managing leaders in a manufacturing environment as a Production Superintendent, Production Manager, Plant Manager, or similar role.
Must be capable of working in a high-speed environment utilizing lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience with following guidelines is preferred: ISO, SQF, AIB or USDA
