Human Resources Generalist

BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist will assist management with complex and specialized administrative tasks including reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing records, and generating reports. In addition, the human resources representative provides guidance, consultation and interpretation to management as it pertains to employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, organization development, legal issues, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management software.

· Interpret and explain human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.

Assist in the recruitment process including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and interviewing.

· Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotions opportunities.

· Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.

· Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.

· Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies).

· Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, etc.).

· Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys, etc.) and take minutes.

· Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.

· Communicate with public services when necessary.

· Creates and updates SOP’s

· Attends meeting and writes HR reports as minutes.

· Completes project-based assignments.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Ability to read/write and speak English

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and others

· Work independently with minimum supervision while prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines

· Initiative to plan and complete assigned work with a high level of accuracy

· Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor

· Work in high-volume office with multiple interruptions throughout the day

· Conflict resolution techniques

· Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds

· Communicate with others to convey information effectively.

· Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

· Proven track record of success in recruitment, staffing and staff management.

· Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation, and personnel information systems.

· Strong relationship and time management skills with ability to easily handle a busy workload.

· Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.

· Experience creating and implementing projects and processes from inception to completion.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

· SHRM or HRCI certification desirable, but not required.

· Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

· At least 3 years of human resources experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

·Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeated motions that include wrist, hands and fingers. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
