BBSI is currently seeking an Organizing Assistant (OA). This is a part time, on call opportunity paying $15 hourly with opportunity to advance. Job site, team, and self-study training is provided.
Candidate will be able to sign up for or may be assigned to client projects. A 9:00am-5:00pm workday is preferred but can be adjusted somewhat based upon your scheduling needs. Some weeks may be 30+ hours while there may be some weeks with no hours. Once you are signed up for a client project, you are asked to work that project for the duration.
The qualified candidate will report to and assist the onsite Supervising Organizer with sorting and grouping client’s personal property at client’s residence as well as tracking and creating an inventory of those items.
We are looking for a stable, responsible, and professional team member who is adaptable, likes to organize stuff, and has a “get it done” attitude. If you are looking for an interesting job without having to work all of the time, we might be a good fit for you!
Core Requirements: The selected person must:
- Demonstrate a high degree of organizational ability
- Comprehend, demonstrate proficiency in normal operating processes and functions
- Manage and maintain workload with little or no direct supervision
- Work cooperatively as a team member
- Solve problems in creative and efficient ways
- Have basic knowledge of names, types, and brands of household items (antique-current day)
- Be proficient in the use of the Internet for limited research purposes
- Represent the company in a professional, calm, friendly, and approachable manner
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Type at least 25 wpm
- Read, write, speak, and communicate clearly and fluently in English
- Have good grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills
- Have reliable and consistent transportation
The OA must be able to work for long periods in a variety of physical environments. They must be able to perform data entry; and occasionally move and lift up to 40 lbs. The OA must be able to climb up or down stairs, or up and down short ladders while carrying objects. The OA must be able to reach overhead and bend over while moving objects. The OA must provide their own transportation to and from client jobsites and errands around town.
Physical working environments and conditions will vary by client and project, to potentially include unclean/disorganized homes lacking climate control or modern facilities.
Example of Tasks:
Organize and inventory household items
Follow and perform tasks on a checklist style project plan
Sorting, organizing, and packing household items
Taking photos with specific instruction
Accurately describing items on Excel worksheet
Systematically keeping track of location of each item
Drug Testing & Background Check:
Applicants may be required to submit to drug and alcohol testing prior to, and during their employment. Background checks will be conducted on all candidates before any job offer is made and may periodically be conducted during the course of employment.
