Busy litigation firm in Fairfax seeks to hire a Legal Assistant for one of the firm’s partners. Duties include: preparation of a variety of pleadings in federal and state courts in Virginia and Maryland, preparation of pleadings before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, dictation, managing files, telephone duties and other administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to client contact, calendaring, etc.
Qualifications required: substantial secretarial experience, with experience in the legal field, adept at using Word, transcription experience, strong organizational skills, detail oriented and the ability to work independently. Familiarity with Virginia and Maryland litigation (state and federal), to include electronic filing platforms, and Virginia Workers’ Compensation practice strongly preferred.
