Location: Huntsville, AL
Position Status: Fulltime - 40+ hours per week
Work Schedule:
Regular hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Employees may need to adjust work hours during surge situations.
Brief Job Description:
The Human Resources (HR) Manager will ensure the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resources plans and programs are realized. This HR Manager will be responsible for attracting, motivating, and retaining the most qualified talent by directing the administrative functions of the HR Department. The HR Manager will be called upon to handle employee-related services, regulatory compliance, and employee relations, among other assigned tasks. The ideal candidate has solid knowledge of core HR programs, processes, practices and legal guidelines. Self-motivation, the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, operate in a fast, paced environment and exercise good judgment are critical to success. We are also looking for someone who is curious and can bring a solution-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and administers human resources plans and procedures that relate to Company personnel
- Heavy recruiting with a concentration on in country/out of state positions.
- Works closely with executive team to carry out recruiting, hiring, and HR Department duties
- Contributes to the development of HR Department goals, objectives, and systems
- Implements and maintains the Company's compensation program
- Creates and maintains job descriptions
- Develops, analyzes, and updates the Company evaluation program
- Maintains the Company's employee handbook on policies and procedures
- Performs benefits administration
- Maintains affirmative action programs
- Oversees recruitment efforts for all personnel, including writing and placing job requisitions
- Conducts new employee orientations and employee relations coaching
- Participates in administrative staff meetings
- Recommends new policies, approaches, and procedures
- Performs other tasks as needed
Requirements
- Must have minimum 7 years proven experiences in Human Resources functions
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional Certifications will be considered a plus (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRMSCP)
- Must have ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate HR processes are being followed
- Must have strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking skills, data oriented and savvy with analytics
- Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
- Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written
Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
Generally, work is conducted in an inside environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates and while on travel.
