Janitor Custodian

Our client, a manufacturing company located in the Elmwood Park/Harwood Heights area, seeks an experienced janitor custodian.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Clean building by dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and operating cleaning equipment.

· Service, clean and supply restrooms.

· Notify management concerning the need for major repairs to building operating systems.

· Stock, maintain & request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

· Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs and ladders to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.

· Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.

· Follows prescribed safety regulations and informs management of potential risks or hazards.

· Removes snow and ice from building entrances by shoveling and/or applying ice melting products to assigned areas.

· Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

· Accurately document time worked by clocking in and out of payroll time clock

· Correctly document all job activity and transactions in our ERP system (M2M)

· Empties trash and recycle receptacles throughout building as needed

· Responds to spills and cleaning requests

· Light maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and tightening loose screws and bolts

· Assist in responding to Maintenance work orders as advised by supervisor or designee

· Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot potential issues
