The Research Associate is primarily responsible for the collection, organization and preparation of data for the purposes of analysis, dissemination, and utilization. He/she will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Research and will collaborate with designated staff across all programs and departments throughout the organization.
· Troubleshoots errors/discrepancies in data and works with program staff and/or clients to correct and/or gather missing information
· Assist with the Line of Sight Meetings by participating in preparation meetings and review databases and charts for data integrity.
· Travel to other agency campuses to provide trainings or give presentations to various programs as needed regarding proper completion of outcome measures in order to ensure data validity and integrity and/or reporting program specific outcome data results.
· Provide supervision and guidance, alongside the Director of Research, to USC/CSUN undergraduate interns who have a keen interest in research processes and design.
· Work closely with the Director of Research to identify opportunities for improvement across programs in regards to outcome measures.
· Review data in order to spot errors in data entry, anomalies, and other data quality issues.
· Generates and distributes routine and special reports as requested.
· Prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations to summarize trends and results of special reports.
· Monitor Line of Sight data for integrity, identify potential errors and concerns
· Take minutes for specific meetings (POM and LOS).
· Work with all programs to ensure all data is tracked in required databases.
· Conduct scientific literature reviews as needed to support goals of the department and agency.
· Lead the biannual organization and collection of WFI Interviews
· Generate and implement (with supervisor approval) research ideas.
· Assist with data collection, data entry, and analysis including generating benchmarking data.
· Present and disseminate data to persons in agency as required and needed.
· Act as a liaison for the Research Department with other programs to assist with improving outcome measure data collection.
· Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficient knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of SPSS preferred
- Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Skilled at verbal and written communication
- Participate in funder trainings/meetings
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social science from a 4 year university and a minimum of two years with research experience.
• Tuberculosis clearance
• Department of Justice/Fingerprint clearance
• Satisfactory completion of health screening
• Proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States
• Satisfactory driving record

While performing the duties of a Research Assistant, the employee is frequently required to sit stand and use his/her fingers to manipulate a keyboard or writing instrument. The employee is occasionally required to walk, bend and lift object heavier than ten pounds. The employee may be required to drive to other agency locations and trainings.
The work environment is primarily indoors. The noise level varies from quiet to moderate.
