Job Description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead all company finance and reporting functions and will partner with CEO on financing, strategic, and investor relations initiatives.  Highly visible senior leadership position with significant and regular interaction with Board of Directors.     

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • The Chief Financial Officer is expected to cultivate strong relationships with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, analysts, management team
  • Drives strategic financial vision and all corporate finance activities, that includes leading the company fundraising and financial strategic partnerships to allow the company to execute its plans for rapid commercial expansion
  • Ensures the company manages cash effectively and provides forward looking models to enable effective management of cash and resources
  • Manages timely and accurate reporting and analysis of financial and associated business information to the Board, Audit Committee, internal, external and regulatory constituencies and agencies, ensuring global compliance 
  • Interfaces with, and represents the Company to shareholders, financial institutions, and the investment community
  • Defines and issues key performance metrics and management reporting
  • Manages the insurance and risk management for all lines of coverage
  • Recruits, trains and mentors the accounting and finance organization
  • Conducts special projects as assigned by the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Leads the team preparing the SEC reporting requirements in accordance with U.S. GAAP

 

 Requirements:  

  • Demonstrated track record of success as a CFO or VP, Finance in a public company, preferably in the medical devices or biopharmaceutical industries
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial, high growth environment; venture and private equity financing experience required
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to ‘roll-up sleeves’
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members at all levels
  • A BA or BS in a relevant area of finance or accounting from a recognized academic institution is required, with a preference for candidates with an MBA or CPA. 
  • • 15+ years of progressive responsibility in a finance/accounting function, including previous experience as a Controller or Vice President of Finance and other positions of demonstrated leadership.  Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Ability to identify and secure funding/revenue sources
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate and interact with individuals at all levels and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies: strong collaborative skills
  • Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary
