Job Description

We are looking for Data Engineer/Architect

Job Title: Data Engineer/Architect

Location 100% Remote

Full time opportunity with 401(k) with employer match and profit-sharing retirement plan

• Own responsibility for extracting, transforming, and preparing data from various data sources to centralized stores for analysis and platform application access
• Utilize appropriate analytics and technologies to create an analytics-ready platform location (data lake, warehouse, etc)- cleansing and normalizing that data as appropriate
• Ensure data pipelines are reliable, robust, and able to be deployed to production
• Employ best practices to document the sources and pedigree of the data elements to support further research
• Help ensure the creation and utilization of statistically valid models, processes, and procedures throughout the organization. Ensure the correct utilization of any models created.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to identify and refine additional sources of data and business practices that can be utilized to identify success patterns. Work with business leadership to identify or suggest new data elements for capture by analyzing business processes, past results, and setting up and managing new studies and capture methods.
• Champion the concepts of valid data analytics and machine learning organizationally - through an informational presentation of results, processes, “lunch and learns”, etc.
• Mentor other department staff members as appropriate in best practices
5+ years and strong experience in the following:
Broad set of data query and manipulations technologies including SQL, Python, etc
Strong Cloud-based data warehouse/data lake platforms experience (Redshift, BigQuery, Azure, Snowflake)
Preparing reliable, production-scale data movement/ETL pipelines / schedulers to provide reliable data transport (Snowflake, AWS Glue, AWS Data Wrangler) to feed applications and machine learning environments in the cloud using industry-leading frameworks (SageMaker, TensorFlow, MXNet, etc)
Identify and incorporate new sources of data or data partners/ interfaces to provide additional data augmentation for richer demographic and personal interest data. This includes incorporating API based integrations (FullContact, Experian, GoogleAnalytics, etc)
Evaluate and recommend investments in new tools and technologies that speed progress or produce more reliable answers
Strong familiarity with applying data analytics and statistical techniques to real-world problems
Comfort with popular data science tools and platforms such as Python, R, Jupityr notebooks, SageMaker, Tensorflow, MxNet, etc
Ability to work highly independently or with a team to provide clear recommendations that improve results with their data-based insights.
Comfort working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.
Adept at using large data sets to produce, test, and optimize models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action
Strong decision-making skills with the ability to execute identified priorities with high-quality standards. Detail-oriented, self-directed, and highly accountable
Experience in Fundraising and non-profit data is a huge plus
