Bar & Floor Assistant Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our ideal candidate is someone who has the drive, stamina, and professional demeanor to handle a very high-volume lunch and dinner restaurant/bar. Our ideal candidate will join a solid leadership team and help oversee day-to-day floor operations, complete with a daily staff of 60+ employees, and seven individually owned restaurants. Assistant manager responsibilities include maintaining Avanti’s revenue, profitability, and service standards.

$60,000 - $65,000 yearly

• Manage, train and supervise staff, and uphold standards of customer service. 
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. 
• Provide customer service, answer customer questions, and address complaints. 
• Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
• Lead and supervise the team during high-volume shifts by assisting all departments and keeping the team engaged, focused, and on tasks. 
• Assisting with day-to-day cleanliness and building maintenance. 
• Scheduling and hiring a designated department of hourly team members, while forecasting business levels to ensure proper coverage. 
• Assist, supervise, and manage the bar operation ensuring high quality of ingredients, proper par levels, and seamless execution of the bar program.  

• Have superb communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience managing a team is required; preferably in a hospitality role such as department manager
• A high school diploma or GED, and a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in hospitality management or a related field
• Must have at least 3 or more years of experience in the hospitality field
• Proven customer service experience as a manager; strong guest-focused mentality

• 2+ years of Management Experience in the F&B industry required 
• 1+ years of bar/high volume restaurant experience required 
• Passion for hospitality and service is a must 
• Experience with craft cocktails, local and specialty beers, and various wine varietals 
• Experience working with large and eclectic teams
