Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for safety, quality, cost, and delivery of products produced by achieving results through the Cascade Enterprise System (CES) lean industrial engineering methodology and tools. Responsible for implementing, with the production team, CES Flow Cell methodology and results. Responsible for individual and team development and accountability.

The CES Flow Cell methodology is a system of shop floor management used to scientifically stabilize and rapidly improve our processes, equipment and work flow. The system utilizes lean tools that includes, but is not limited to, 6S, Standard Work and Takt Time, OEE, Pull Systems, TPM, Jidoka, etc. The Gemba Manager is expected to be a practitioner of lean and industrial engineering with expertise in the systematic assessment and implementation of these tools. This position may require up to 50% travel in North America.

  • Responsible for achieving results through the tactical practice of CES methodology and tools, including training
  • Responsible for the sustainment and advancement of CES Flow Cell Certification, and develops the shop floor through the CES Flow Cell methodology and tools
  • Leads continuous improvement activities in production, safety, quality and the manufacturing teams
  • Leads and coordinates lean and cost savings projects
  • Leads team problem solving methodologies; develops co-leaders
  • Immersed practitioner of the CES lean industrial engineering methodology and tools
  • Responsible to achieve CES Immersion for their teams
  • Provides back-up to the Operations Leadership
  • Responsible for Strategy Deployment by supporting Level 0 and Level 1 Initiatives in their Mission and VSA A3s
  • Responsible to achieve the goals provided through the strategy deployment process of CES, i.e., Plant VSAs, Operations Mission A3s, etc.
  • Responsible for tracking performance relative to the shop floor metrics of CES Flow Cells and Plant Mission Center goals and objectives and working with the Plant Manager to execute countermeasures to missed performance of these metrics
  • Uses financial data and KPI’s as set forth in the Plant Mission Center to help set objectives and priorities for the team (e.g., Safety, OEE, Inventory Accuracy, Overtime)
  • Ensure compliance with ISO14001, IATF16949 and other management standards through consistent execution of policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Ensure compliance of plant operations with company policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations
  • Keep current with information and manufacturing technologies
  • Ensure compliance with Leader Standard Work and CES Flow Cell auditing and performance standards
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements and performance standards
  • Enforce and administer company policies in a fair and consistent manner
  • Support programs for employee relations, health and safety, learning and development for specific direct reports
  • Ability to navigate, learn and understand the company’s business operating systems

  • Responsible for relations with the communities being served by the organization and the general public
  • Represents the organization as appropriate with community organizations, government officials, and other constituencies

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Lean and Industrial Engineering Certifications
  • 5-10 years’ experience in TPS/Lean implementation
  • Competent in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of quality systems ISO 9001 2015, IATF16949, MQ1

Preferred

  • 3-10 years Operations or Engineering Leadership Experience
  • Bachelor’s Industrial  or other Engineering discipline
  • Master’s Industrial or other Engineering discipline
