Director of Service Operatons (Technical)

Position Summary
This postion is a leadership role within the Services Division at Barcodes Group. The Director of Service Operations (Dir of ServOps) has responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the appropriate operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the service operations and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. 

The Dir of ServOps is based in and will oversee two facilities in Holland, Michigan; our Technical Center and our Warehouse, located within 6 miles of each other. The Director will have responsibility for all Operational aspects of service delivery in these facilities, which includes our break-fix repair services, Certified Pre-Owned equipment offering, warehousing and logistics, device configurations and deployments, and kitting and staging services.

This role will report to the Vice President and Head of Services.

Responsibilites

  • Provide exemplary day-to-day leadership, judgement, vision, and management to accomplish the mission, goals, objectives, and core values of the company
  • Create, execute and regularly report on the ongoing, detailed working plan for the business
  • Dedication to building and growing a strong, high-performance team:
  • Plan, direct and coordinate the Operations Department to monitor operational processes including scheduling, labor forecasting, bottlenecks, turn times, product flow, picking process, managed services, quality and logistics; measure effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes and determine ways to improve
  • Work closely and partner with our Information Technology Department to ensure that all systems are continuously evaluated for proper operation, relevance and utilization; participate in an ongoing ERP-CRM review for improvements, streamlining, and consideration of other options
  • Continually investigate and introduce or enhance process improvement measures; assist in the management, implementation and coordination in all Departments to reduce or eliminate waste and financial losses; evaluate reduction or addition of product lines to align with business financials
  • Formulate policies and long-term and short-term strategic plans; create strategy to implement career pathing; measure progress and adjust processes accordingly with the intent to keep the organization on track
  • Diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues; adjust processes and procedures accordingly
  • Perform training needs analysis; initiate, develop and coordinate the implementation of specific training; determine Individual Development Plan needs; develop solid cross-training programs in all Departments; create and maintain Performance Management process from bottom up and top down
  • Monthly, scheduled day travel to the Chicago Office, travel to customers, vendors, conferences, business meetings, etc. as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years relevant experience required
  • Seven (7) years of managerial experience
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Work, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and manage complex team workflow
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Process oriented with analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and ability to make decisions and solve problems
