Job Description

RTR is a young, dynamic, and rapidly growing entrepreneurial business with activities in motorsports and the automotive aftermarket industry. We are looking to strengthen our team with an experienced Controller .

In this position, and as part of the management team, you will be responsible for all accounting and financial aspects of the business. Does this sound like you? This is a full‐time position, based at the company’s Concord, NC headquarters.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Controller is responsible for the company’s accounting and financial reporting, specifically:

‐ the upkeep of the company’s financial records, as per GAAP.

‐ the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, statements, predictive cashflows and budgets.

‐ the analysis of financial information.

‐ the application and assurance of financial control procedures consistent with GAAP.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

∙ Total balance sheet and profit & loss responsibility for multiple subsidiary companies. ∙ Responsible for generating and upkeeping cashflow projections.

∙ Responsible for timely monthly, quarterly, and year‐end close cycles, variance analysis and financial reporting.

∙ Responsible for maintaining and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.

∙ Day‐to‐day accounting transactions; recording and analysis of revenue and expense. ∙ Accounts payable, accounts receivable management.

∙ Administration and communication of payroll and other HR related aspects with Paychex. ∙ On‐boarding of new employees and maintenance of employee records.

∙ Manage and coordinate all activities within the accounting department.

∙ Maintenance and expansion of accounting procedures and financial controls. ∙ Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data. ∙ Coordinate and support the preparation of Federal and State tax returns with external CPA. ∙ Support annual worker’s comp. audits, I‐9 and other insurance.

∙ Support the integration and everyday operation of enterprise resource planning system. ∙ Application of cost accounting to determine actual costs, variances and trends.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

∙ BS degree in accounting or finance.

∙ 10 years of relevant work experience in engineering or manufacturing industries. ∙ High degree of self‐motivation and independence.

∙ High degree of proficiency with QuickBooks Online

∙ Microsoft Excel proficiency.

∙ MBA degree.

∙ CPA license.
