Automation Technician Job Summary
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working and qualified Automation Technician for manufacturing company in the North Charleston area. In this job, you will be responsible for an array of duties such as maintaining and repairing the electrical components of manufacturing equipment, as well as other related duties.
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule and Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Automation Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain personal tool requirements.
Order materials, parts and supplies following the JIT and Lean principles.
Prepare materials, supplies, and tools daily to complete work tasks.
Troubleshoot and/or diagnosis of equipment or machinery.
Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment or machinery.
Conduct corrective maintenance on equipment or machinery.
Maintain a clean work area.
Dispose of materials, parts, and supplies properly.
Automation Technician Competencies:
Having a Plan, Do, Check, Act approach to daily activities.
Guide and instruct during breakdowns on highly automated production line equipment.
Quickly analyze and repair mechanical, electrical, and programming issues.
Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of an entry level competency related to the following tasks:
o PLC Systems including Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Mitsubishi.
o Programming, commissioning, design, and diagnostics.
o AC / DC Drives selection, programming, diagnostics, and installation.
o Programming and diagnostics with robotic systems.
o Microsoft Suite.
Possess knowledge and skills with a CMMS Maintenance system.
Ability to resolve the recovery of all equipment from a technical fault without assistance.
Possess practices and methodology in the execution with mechanical, electrical and programming issues and repairs.
Demonstrate knowledge and capabilities with reliability maintenance when executing mechanical and electrical repairs of equipment.
Knowledge of proactive and predictive maintenance practices.
Knowledge of mechanical draws, electrical schematics, and ladder logic displays.
Possess the ability to work from and understand equipment manuals, specifications, Bill of Materials (BOMs).
Possess the capability to comprehend both verbal and written instructions.
Automation Technician Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid drivers license.
Applicable skill and knowledge and skills of competencies.
Pervious experience with controls and electrical system installation is required.
Previous experience with PLC and electrical troubleshooting is required.
