Project Manager - Paving

Austin Tyler Construction is hiring a Project Manager to handle our company’s current & future asphalt paving projects. This project manager role will work closely with our entire paving operation including daily coordination with our asphalt plant manager, scheduling work weekly with our asphalt paving superintendent, and daily coordination with project engineering staff or municipal staff.

A Project Manager role at Austin Tyler Construction will require experience in the civil & heavy/highway construction industry. This candidate should be an effective communicator, ability to multitask, ability to prioritize management responsibilities on a weekly basis, well versed in Microsoft Office software’s.

This Project Manager role will also be involved in estimating new asphalt paving projects. Experience in pricing, solicitation, reviewing plans, & determining overall cost for projects is an advantage.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

• Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
• Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
• Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
• Preparing month billing reports and submitting billing to the Owner or Engineer.
• Establishing effective project communication with the Owner or Engineer.
• Pricing & ordering materials, tracking lead times to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Facilitating change orders when needed and coordinating with the Owner or Engineer on the budget & scheduling impacts.
• Identifying and developing new opportunities with clients.
• Obtaining Owner or Engineer’s acceptance of project deliverables.

Project Manager Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field or significant resume background to suffice.
• Proven experience in project management.
• Ability to lead projects of various sizes and see them through to completion.
• Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
• Budget management, submittals, change orders, pay requests, request for information experience.
• Experience in ordering materials, scheduling subcontractors, project scheduling, quantity documentation, material certifications, final closeout documentation.
