AV Install Technician
Preferred candidates would have a minimum of 2-3+ years of AV installation experience, know how to solder/terminate connections, pull low voltage cable, read blueprints and schematic drawings, are comfortable in aerial lifts/heights, have construction/building skills and the ability to lift 70+ pounds. Knowledge of DSP processors, AV control systems, digital sound boards, DMX lighting software and video software a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Install AV equipment including audio, video, control, video conferencing, equipment racks, and other furniture items.
· Pull low voltage cabling through walls, ceilings, floors, and other building structure.
· Terminate cables with required connectors using solder, compression, crimp, and other termination methods.
· Build and assemble AV racks and equipment desks.
· Rig, mount, and fly speakers, video equipment, lighting equipment, projector screens, etc.
· Perform basic testing of cables and equipment to ensure proper termination, correct connection, and proper system performance.
· Set up, test, and troubleshoot AV and lighting equipment.
· Communicate status updates as required to Project Engineer.
· Follow local and state code, along with NEC electrical code.
· Install AV equipment in a safe, neat, and workmanlike manner.
· Perform all functions of the position and other duties that may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Power Limited Technician License preferred.
· CTS or CTS-I preferred.
· Works well both independently and on a team of skilled co-workers.
· Fundamental understanding of proper cable needs for specific applications and tasks
· Fundamental understanding of audio/video signal flow and routing
· Basic knowledge of construction techniques
· Understanding of required tools and proper use of them for specific tasks
· Ability to work in lifts, ladders, and on scaffolding as needed.
· Some travel required.
· Must have clean valid driver's license with dependable transportation.
· Ability to work some evenings, and overtime as necessary.
